D’nelle Dowis: Lead Organizer

D’nelle is the owner of Berry Interesting Productions, where her shenanigans include website building, email marketing, project managing, graphic designing, and SEO-ing. She lives and works in East Nashville with her husband and two dogs. She’s on twitter @d_nelle, and neglects her own WordPress site here.

Brett Shumaker: Website and Speakers Lead

Brett is the lead WordPress developer at Ah So Designs. He has several plugins in the WordPress repository and loves building custom plugins for clients. Brett organizes the WP Nashville Developer’s Breakfast and loves being a part of the Nashville WordPress community. You can find him on Github and Twitter

Beth Downey: Publicity Lead

With thirteen years of graphic design experience under my belt, I made a career pivot in 2012 to the wonderful world of web development. I worked as a front end web developer at Sprclldr for 3.5 years and struck out on my own in November 2015, starting my company, Permelia Media. I specialize in WordPress web development, specifically hand-coded custom-themed WordPress websites. What sets me apart from most front end web developers is my history as a graphic designer which allows me to replicate a design pixel-perfectly on the web.

Christina Blust: Design Lead

Christina Blust runs Blustery Day Design with her sister Jessica, providing graphic design and web development services. She’s an active contributor to numerous open source projects, including the Wikimedia Foundation sites and other community-built efforts. As an independent singer/songwriter and player of accordion/guitar/piano, Christina has released albums for both solo and band projects and has gotten to play at music festivals like SXSW and MidPoint Music Festival. She also writes and speaks as the co-founder of the Live Sincerely Project.

Dustin Meza: Budget Lead

Dustin Meza is the Director of Customer Experience Operations at WP Engine. He has been in the hosting industry for 8 years and has been with WP Engine for 3 years. At WP Engine, Dustin oversees many aspects of the WordPress platform including WordPress upgrades for over 100,000 WordPress installs.

Dustin has spoken at 9 different WordCamp’s around the US and attended over 20 as a sponsor with WP Engine as well.

Outside of WordPress, Dustin loves being outdoors in Nashville with his wife Megan, and black lab, Maddy. He enjoys all kinds of sports, both watching and playing, and has been known to play some video games when time allows.

Josiah Goff: Project Management, Speaker/Sponsor Dinner, and After Party Lead

Josiah has been building websites and apps with WordPress since 2008. When he’s not pushing code, he enjoys reading, disc golfing, binge-watching Netflix, and spending time with his wife, Amy, and his son, Solomon. You can follow him on Twitter or at his blog.

I am a designer with over twenty years of experience working with small businesses and startups. I have been using WordPress since 2013 when a client requested I migrate his old HTML site to a user-friendly CMS. In addition to WordPress websites, I create branding and marketing collateral for my clients. I am a full service design shop, helping to move businesses forward.

Eleasha Drew: Sponsorship Lead

Hey! I’m Eleasha, a web design creative based in Nashville. I just used WordPress for the first time this year to create my personal website and love it! When I’m not staring into the depths of my computer, I like to binge on Sound Cloud and Netflix…and occasionally go outside.

Steve Wilkison: Volunteer

Steve Wilkison is currently an Associate Professor at Waktins College Of Art, Design & Film where he has teaching web development and design for nine years. A veteran of the music industry, Steve has been designing and developing websites, eCards, digital press kits and other interactive media for almost 20 years. He has worked with artists such as Willie Nelson, Keith Urban, June Carter Cash, Guy Clark, Nickel Creek, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Chely Wright and many more. Steve owns and operates Digital Vision Media, an award winning website, interactive and multimedia design and development company based in Nashville. Former President of Eminent Records in Nashville, former Vice-President/General Manager of Koch Records in New York, Owner of Dejadisc in Austin and Founding Member of the Americana Music Association. Vegetarian, music lover, cyclist, dog lover. Wishes he lived in France.

I’m a native Nashvillian who currently works with the University Web Communications team at Vanderbilt University. I live in the Crieve Hall area with my wife, Amy, and our two kids, Allyson (7) and Drew (4). I spent about 8 years playing for the Nashville Kangaroos Australian Rules Football team after college, and Aussie Rules is definitely my favorite sport to play

John’s passion is helping businesses grow by utilizing online sales and marketing funnels to fuel their outside sales teams with qualified leads.

In the past two years, my team has launched Exodus, a WordPress development platform, WP Facilitator, the online source to help WordPress businesses grow through structured accountability and Kurate.it, the best way to curate email content using WordPress.

He like to dress up like Kix Brooks and sing karaoke with my friend Jake who dresses up as Ronnie Dunn. They call themselves Drooks and Brunn and you can find them on random Friday nights at Santa’s Pub.
